‘Angry’ Agbaje hungry for knockout
National boxing featherweight champion, Taiwo Agbaje, says he is eagerly looking forward to a fight where he can knock out his opponent out having been out of the ring for a long time.
Agbaje, popularly known as ‘Esepo’, last fought in December 2019 owing to the ban placed on boxing and other sports by the Federal Government due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
Last month the FG lifted the ban on contact sports and Agbaje, winner of the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 20 last December, revealed he is eager to get into the ring again after 11 months.
“I am very happy now that ban has lifted on contact sports because it means I can start preparing for a fight,” Agbaje told The PUNCH.
“All I need now is for a bout to be arranged for me to get back in the ring because I have been training so hard since the ban and I am really starved and eager to get in the ring.
“I know there is an arrangement for me to fight on Boxing Day which is December 26, but because it’s been long that I last fought, I am daring to go and people in my camp know that as long as I have trained very well I can challenge anyone
